From about 2004 onwards most car manufactures started using the CAN or VAN bus system in their vehicles to carry out various functions including the operation and control of the stereo system.

Time and time again we still see and here about “my mate” having a go installing and chopping off the wiring plugs and causing more drama than you could imagine.

Stop for one second and think if it is worth “your mate” installing your new stereo into your car to save a few quid when they don’t even know what damage they’ve done until your engine management light comes on and your car fails to go properly.
